Blush Vintage Tea Towel PillowI first purchased a selection of vintage tea towels at a flea market recently to make use of the beautiful bits of lace and embroidery on other projects. When it came right down to it, however, I couldn't bring myself to cut apart these lovely home decor frocks. The patina of time and the romantic faded colors drew me in. I always love working with vintage, because I love to think of the people who used these pieces before me. And I love handmade, because I love to think of the people my piece will go to. Hence this particular soft blush cotton tea towel, with its beautiful embroidery became a sweet little pillow. It makes me feel French (I'm not). There are some age spots, sun bleachings, and other signs of the passing of time, but they to my eye they fade away when taken in with the whole. Rather, it adds to the charm. It's a well loved piece that is part of something new, and it will decorate your bedroom, bath, or home with shabby chic sentimentality. Other Details: The under pillow is made with white cotton linen. The stuffing is an environmentally friendly bamboo sliver. Measurements are about 13" wide and 9" tall. Sold |
