Organic Hooked PillowAntique textiles fascinate me. I love the weathered edges, the blur and patina of time, and the bits and pieces that have crumbled away so that your imagination needs to fill in the spaces. It's these relic pieces that are the inspiration behind a series of I'm calling Fragments. This pillow is one of a collection including mini pillows and tabletop items using a few different rug hooking and punching techniques that all explore and exploit the wonder of the imperfect. Pattern repeats run off the edges and borders aren't allowed to become too distinct. Off center is definitely something I can identify with. This pillow is hooked with an organic wool/alpaca blend, backed with a rustic floral upholstery weight cotton, and stuffed with organic wool. Measurements are approx 12 inches long and 9 inches wide.
